Rishabh Pant To Leave Delhi Capitals And Join Chennai Super Kings Before IPL 2025 – Reports. Wicketkeeper-batter and Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant, might leave the franchise before Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction and join the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025. According to a report in Dainik Jagran on Saturday (July 20), the Delhi franchise is unhappy with Pant, who led the team in IPL 2024 and is still deciding whether to retain him for IPL 2025.

Looking at the material that is out there, the team may be also thinking about changing the wicketkeeper-batsman. Nevertheless, former team India skipper and the Cricket Director of Delhi Capitals Sourav Ganguly also holds the view that Rishabh Pant should be the captain.

If Delhi releases Rishabh Pant, the 26-year-old who batted at number 3 in all eight matches of India’s T20 World Cup 2024, Chennai Super Kings might pursue him in IPL 2025. A CSK official indicated that the franchise is mulling over signing a top Indian wicketkeeper to replace MS Dhoni in case he retires from the IPL.

Dhoni, who is 43 years old has played the most games in the IPL history and it is very possible that Dhoni won’t play in the 2025 version of the league. Also, there are rumours that KL Rahul may end his association with the Lucknow Super Giants after the three-year contract he has signed comes to an end.

After an IPL 2024 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka criticized Rahul for his performance, and the incident was caught on camera. Moreover, Rahul, who moved to LSG for Rs. 17 crores in IPL 2022 mega auctions, is a Karnataka player and may go back to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The 31-year-old has previously played for RCB, being part of the franchise in IPL 2013 and 2016. He has often expressed a desire to return and play for his state team once again. In the 2024 IPL season, RCB, led by Faf du Plessis, reached the playoffs. However, RCB is considering appointing an Indian captain. If they sign Rahul, who has captained India in all three formats, he could take on the role of captain for RCB in IPL 2025.
