Sandeep Lamichhane Denied US Visa Again, Sparking Massive Protests in Nepal. The US Embassy in Nepal has once again rejected Sandeep Lamichhane’s visa application. Having captained the national cricket team and being a key player, this will prevent his participation in the T20 World Cup 2024. Following this announcement, there was a huge uproar across the country. In a massive show of the cricket-loving nation’s passion, Kathmandu saw a ‘sea’ of people who took it to the streets expressing their dissatisfaction with the decision and calling for immediate action to be taken on this matter.

The Patan High Court recently acquitted Lamichhane of a rape charge, and fans and experts expected him to be a vital part of Nepal’s T20 World Cup squad. His missing out on selection because of issues relating to his visa has left many supporters outraged as they feel that without him the team cannot achieve success.

A large crowd of demonstrators gathered, carrying signs and shouting slogans to back Lamichhane. They asked officials to take action and help the skilled player get a visa to represent Nepal globally. According to reports, the Nepalese cricket authorities have also shown their worry and are holding talks with the concerned departments over the visa rejection. They stated that it is crucial for Lamichane to take part in the T20 World Cup and are optimistic about finding a solution.
