Shivam Dube Ruled Out Of T20I Series vs Bangladesh, Tilak Varma Replaces Him: Shivam Dube, the Indian all-rounder, has suffered a back injury and has unfortunately been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. Scheduled to commence on October 6 in Gwalior, the series will have three matches. The BCCI has named Tilak Varma, the left-handed batter, as Dube’s replacement, and he is expected to join the team before the first game.
Dube, who has been a consistent performer for India in T20I, especially in the absence of Hardik Pandya, got himself injured before the commencement of the series, which was initially slated for October 6 in Gwalior. The injury has informed the decision of the Indian selectors to name Tilak Varma as his replacement.
Tilak Varma has been in and around the Indian squad for some time and was last seen for the Indians during a white ball series in early 2024. Varma had a good season last year in 2024 for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, where he scored more than 41 on average with a high strike rate, proving he knows how to handle pressure.

The first match of the series will take place at Scindia Stadium in Gwalior. It will be followed by matches in Delhi and Hyderabad on 9th and 12th October, respectively. Dube’s unavailability will be challenging for India in terms of how they adjust their all-rounders, although it will not be as bad thanks to Hardik Pandya. Moreover, Suryakumar Yadav, the captain, hinted that Sanju Samson, the wicketkeeper-batter, may open the batting with Abhishek Sharma.
