T20 World Cup 2024: Tanzim Hasan Sakib Fined 15 Percent Of The Match Fee For Breaching ICC Code Of Conduct. Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib was penalized with a 15 percent cut of his match fee for his behavior offense on Sunday. The violation happened when Tanzim stepped up to bowl in the third over of the Nepal chase and communicated with Nepal captain Rohit Paudel.
Tanzim performed very well in the game, taking 4 wickets for just 7 runs. Bangladesh had a 21-run win over Sri Lanka thanks to his great performance. Still, it turned out that he was not free of a violation of Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which is about “inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee, or any other person (including a spectator) during an International Match.”

On-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Sam Nogajski bring charges, with support from third umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal and fourth umpire Kumar Dharmasena. Tanzim confessed to the violation and promised to abide by the penalty imposed by Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, eliminating the need for a formal hearing.
Bangladesh earned their way to the Super Eight round of the competition, having a big win over Nepal. Their next game is against the host of Antigua, where they need to keep growing. The victory in Nepal has not only inspired Bangladesh but also demonstrated its capacity to advance beyond the league stage and compete at a higher level.
However, as they are getting ready to confront Australia, Bangladesh will make it a point to use their ongoing success to send a signal in the Super Eight phase.
