Team India To Face Australia In The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 Final At The Oval. Rohit Sharma-led Team India has secured their place in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final at The Oval starting on June 7, after Kane Williamson-led New Zealand’s thrilling win over Sri Lanka.
New Zealand’s win eventually means that, no matter what will be the result of Ahmedabad’s test. Sri Lanka needed a whitewash on New Zealand to make the WTC final, but their dramatic loss in the first test against NZ has resulted in India making the WTC 2023 final instead.

India started well in the Border-Gavaskar Test series at home against Australia. Before the series, India’s WTC points percentage was 57%, they beat Kangaroos in Nagpur and Delhi tests and lost to the Indore test.
Australia had sealed off their WTC 2023 final place after their nine-wicket win in the Indore Test last week, with a 68.51 PCT after that last result. Team India had to win the Border-Gavaskar series by 4-0 or 3-1 but the defending champions New Zealand of the ICC WTC have done them a favor.
For Team India, it will be a second consecutive qualification in the WTC final clash. India squared off against Black Caps in the WTC 2021 final, losing by eight wickets to New Zealand. Australia on the other hand had missed out on a final spot last time around by a 0.8-point difference to their arch rivals.
