Updated WTC 2025 Points Table After IND vs NZ 2nd Test Match: New Zealand has created history in Pune, defeating India in the 2nd test match and winning the series. It’s India’s first test series loss at home after 18 consecutive series wins; the last time India lost a test series at home was in December 2012, when Alastair Cook’s England clinched the series 2-1. India has lost some points in the updated WTC standing and may lose the top position if they don’t win the third test.

IND vs. NZ 2nd Test Day 3 Highlights

On day 3 morning, the Kiwis continued their innings with a lead of 301 but could only manage to add 58 runs to it and lost the remaining 5 wickets within the first half of play. Jadeja picked up 3 wickets and did a magnificent run out to end the innings. Glenn Philips remained unbeaten at 48.

Chasing 359, India came out all guns blazing, with Jaiswal hitting a six on the second ball of the inning. Rohit Sharma’s poor run continued as he got out for a mere 8 runs by M. Santner. Shubman Gill joined Jaiswal, and the duo showcased aggressive batting, scoring a combined 60 runs in just 10 overs. Yet again, Santner provided the breakthrough as Gill (23) edged one to the slips.

Soon after, Santner also got rid of Jaiswal, who was looking all set for a hundred but got for a well-made 77. Santner then ran out Pant for a duck, tangled Kohli (17) lbw in front of the wickets, and got Sarfaraz Khan bowled, completing his fifer in the second innings as well.
