West Indies vs South Africa T20I Series: Squads And Schedule Details. After the lose of test series 1-0 to South Africa, The West Indies Cricket Board annoinced the T20I squad consisting of 15 members, which will compete against South Africa during three matches commencing on August 24, 2024. Brian Lara cricket academy will host these matches marking the return of international cricket to this remarkable venue.
The squad will be captained by Rovman Powell who leads a mixture of experienced personalities and upcoming stars but unfortunately Andre Russell and Jason Holder who are both key all-rounders are not included. While he was off taking some rest Andre Russell could not feature in the team whereas Jason Holder was rested because of continuous Test Matches ahead. Nevertheless Alick Athanaze alongside Matthew Forde – a young pace bowler have been partaking in recent games showcasing great promise.
The T20I series comes after a challenging Test series for the West Indies, who lost 1-0 against South Africa. Nonetheless, they will be aiming to regain their form in the T20 format where they have performed strongly, winning four out of five recent bilateral series.
