WPL 2025: RCB Beat MI By 11 Runs In A High-Voltage Thriller; DC Qualifies For Finals: In a gripping match at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat the Mumbai Indians (MI) by 11 runs in their Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 contest on Tuesday. RCB dominated with both bat and ball in this high-stakes clash to steal a hard-earned win, despite MI’s heroic fightback late in the chase. Batting first, RCB put a big total on the board owing to some fantastic performances from Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, and Georgia Wareham. MI put up a valiant fight, but they could not chase down the stiff target of 200 runs.

WPL 2025 MI vs RCB Match Summary

RCB’s Innings

RCB batted first to end with 199 for three, a total that was formidable. Captain Smriti Mandhana led from the front with a scintillating 53 off 37 balls, including six boundaries and three sixes. Ellyse Perry anchored the innings with an unbeaten 49 from 38 deliveries, with Richa Ghosh adding a brisk 36 off 22 balls. The frenetic 31 off just 10 balls from Georgia Wareham helped RCB towards the impressive target. MI’s Response

Starting their chase of the mammoth target of 200, MI lost their in-form opener early, hampering their progress. However, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt steadied the ship and led an important partnership, with some aggressive boundaries allowing MI to keep up with the rate. Sciver-Brunt played a fluent knock, scoring 69 off 35 balls, and Harmanpreet contributed with 20 from 18 deliveries.

Despite efforts, MI could not sustain the ever-heightening run rate demand, more so after RCB spinners choked them in the middle overs. S. Sanjana gave that late valiant push with a fiery 23 off 12 balls, reviving some hopes of a remarkable chase, but RCB’s bowlers, led by Sneh Rana and Kim Garth, held their nerves in the death overs and restricted MI from eating too much into the deficit. MI required a superhero act of 28 runs in the last over, but they failed to do the trick, closing at 188 for eight. RCB’s disciplined bowling and splendid fielding made the difference, taking them to an 11-run victory in a rain of high drama and adrenaline.

Significance of the Match: Delhi Capitals qualifes for the Finals

The victory was primarily a shot in the arm for RCB but did not change their physiology in the tournament, as they were already out of contention for the finals. For MI, it was a lost opportunity to seal a direct place in the final, thus making their journey toward the title an uphill one. Delhi Capitals thus qualify for the finals of WPL 2025. DC has reached the finals for the third consecutive time in WPL (2023, 2024, and 2025).
