WPL 2023 RCB Vs DC: Marizanne Kapp, Jess Jonassen Helped Delhi Capitals To Win The Thriller Against Royal Challengers Bangalore. On March 13, Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals (DC) locked horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). DC were ranked in second place in the WPL points table. They were looking forward to collecting vital two points by defeating RCB. Bangalore were at the bottom of the points table. They were eager to register their first win in the tournament. Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Ellyse Perry Struck Her Second Fifty In The WPL 2023
RCB openers Sophie Devine and Smriti Mandhana started cautiously in the power play. Mandhana couldn’t find her form and got out for 8 off 15 balls. Pacer Shikha Pandey bagged her wicket. Pandey also bowled Devine for 21. RCB continued to lose wickets as Tara Norris send Heather Knight back to the hut. As RCB was in deep trouble, one-down batter Ellyse Perry rescued her team by adding 74 runs with the wicket-keeper batter for the fourth wicket.

In the process, Perry completed her fifty in 45 balls. Richa smashed a quickfire knock of 37 runs off just 16 balls. RCB managed to amass 150 on board in 20 overs after losing four wickets. Perry remained unbeaten on 67 off 52 balls. Her stellar knock was studded with four boundaries and five mammoth sixes.
While chasing a moderate target of 151 runs, Delhi opener Shafali Verma got out in the first over of the innings. Seamer Megan Schutt dismantled her stumps to send her back to the pavilion on duck. New batter Alice Capsey struck three fours in an over bowled by Renuka Singh Thakur. In the next over, Capsey collected 16 runs in four balls before getting dismissed by spinner Preeti Bose. Capsey made 38 runs off just 24 balls with the help of eight fours.
Marizanne Kapp and Jess Jonassen guided Delhi Capitals to win
RCB picked the wickets of Meg Lanning and Jemimah Rodrigues to put Delhi on the back foot. However, Marizanne Kapp and Jess Jonassen handled the pressure well to reach their side to the target in the final over of the game. Kapp remained unbeaten on 32 off 32 deliveries. Jonassen played an unbeaten knock of 29 runs off just 15 balls.
Brief Scorecard: Delhi Capitals (Capsey 38, Kapp 32* Shobana 2/27) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore 150/4 (Perry 67*, Ghosh 37, Pandey 3/23) by six wickets.
