In the second clash of the day in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), Gujarat Giants (GG) were at odds with UP Warriorz (UPW) at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Sneh Rana led Giants today, as regular skipper Beth Mooney ruled out the game. Sophia Dunkley, Kim Garth, and Sushma Verma replaced Beth Mooney, Monica Patel, and Georgia Wareham in the Giants’ playing XI for this game.
Gujarat Giants won the toss and opted to bat first. Their openers Sabbhineni Meghana and Sophia Dunkley started aggressively. However, UP’s all-rounder Deepti Sharma gave the first blow to them by removing Dunkley. English spinner Sophie Ecclestone dismissed Meghana and Annabel Sutherland.

Grace Harris smacked a blistering knock to help Warriorz to get over the line in the nail-biting finish. She scored 20 runs in an over of the opponent’s best bowler of the day, Kim Garth. UP Warriorz required 19 runs in the final over the game, however, Harris handled the pressure well.
He finished the game with a match-winning six on the penultimate ball. She smashed a half-century in just 25 deliveries. She remained unbeaten on 59 off 26 deliveries as Warriorz won the thriller by three wickets.
A Vital Knock By Harleen Deol
Ashleigh Gardner and Harleen Deol rescued Giants from the collapse. In the death overs, Harleen played some attacking strokes. She made 46 runs off 32 balls with the help of seven fours. The giants put up 169 on the board in their 20 overs with the help of a finishing touch given by Dayalan Hemalatha. Sophie Ecclestone and Deepti Sharma picked two wickets each for Warriorz .
Kim Garth Dislodged The Top Three Of Warriorz
Warriorz openers Alyssa Healy and Shweta Sehrawat couldn’t give a solid start to their team as Australia all-rounder Kim Garth dismissed both. Garth also sent Tahila McGrath back to the hut on a golden duck.

Kiran Navgire Smashed A Half-century In The WPL Debut Match
Indian hard-hitting batter Kiran Navgire rescued UP’s innings by stitching a vital partnership with Deepti Sharma. She brought up her fifty in 40 balls. She made 53 runs off 43 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. Garth removed Navgire and Simran Shaikh to complete her five-for on WPL debut and tilted the match in favour of the Giants.
