Vijender Singh wants to fight with Floyd Mayweather

Inspired by Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Netflix boxing matching, Vijender Singh has challenged 15-time major world champion Floyd Mayweather for a similar match in India. Singh, India’s first boxer to win an Olympic medal, has created a buzz on social media.

Fans supported his call, saying it would be a great and amazing fight, and wished him all the best. Vijender Singh’s last match was against Ghana’s Eliasu Sulley. He knocked out Sulley in the second round of the super middleweight event—Jungle Rumble pro boxing fight in August 2022.

Singh hasn’t been in action since 2022. He is now focused on his political career with the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Indian professional boxer was last seen looking dapper at the Indian Sports Honors event earlier.

Vijender Singh Speculations On Retirement

Singh has been absent from the boxing ring for quite some time. However, he hasn’t officially retired. In a 2021 interview, Vijender Singh said a boxer never retires. He gave the example of the legendary heavyweight champion Mike Tyson who recently fought Jake Paul in a Netflix boxing event.

Singh, also an actor and has starred in Fugly and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, highlighted India’s female boxing champion Mary Kom, who is still fighting. He believes age is just a number. However, he acknowledged that it isn’t easy and he can feel it in his body at times.

And now, Singh wants to fight Floyd Mayweather in the ring. It’s to be seen whether Vijender Singh vs. Floyd Mayweather will actuate.
