All six teams—Nepal, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh—will be placed in two groups: Group A and Group B. Each group will have 3 teams, which will play 6 league matches, 6 Super 4 matches, and one final game in a Round-robin format. Currently, Sri Lanka is the reigning champion. They won it last year (2022) after thrashing Pakistan in the final battle.
Nepal, interestingly, qualified for their maiden Asia Cup. This year, Nepal will play one of the biggest Asian tournaments for their country. In May 2023, under Rohit Paudel’s captaincy, in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup finals, Nepal dominated and left the UAE at bay, giving the Rhinos a ticket to the Asia Cup 2023.
