In the series opener at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, England started strong, securing a 28-run victory and sending a powerful message to the Indian team. However, in the Vizag test, India, led by Rohit Sharma, dominated England, clinching a convincing 106-run win and levelling the series at 1-1.
In the third test match at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, the hosts secured a commanding victory, defeating the visitors by 434 runs. This win propelled them to a 2-1 lead in the series. In the fourth and pivotal test match at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, India faced numerous challenges and triumphed, clinching a five-wicket victory. With this win, India secured the series with a commanding lead of 3-1.

Following closely, England’s young left-arm spinner Tom Hartley secured the second position with 22 wickets. Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who was given a rest for the fourth test in Ranchi, managed to take 19 wickets in four games throughout the series. This performance positioned him as the third-highest wicket-taker overall.
Kuldeep Yadav, the Indian wrist-spinner, impressed with a remarkable five-wicket haul in the first innings of the Dharamsala test, placing fourth with 18 wickets. Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja rounded off the top five with 18 wickets.

IND vs ENG 5th Test Match Summary
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first in the fifth test, England faced a strong performance from the hosts, managing to score only 218 runs in their first innings. Wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav caused significant damage with a five-wicket haul, while Ravichandran Ashwin. Playing his 100th test match, also contributed with a four-wicket haul.
In response to England’s first-innings total of 218, India put up a formidable score of 447, aided by centuries from Rohit Sharma (103) and Shubman Gill (110), along with valuable contributions from other top-order batsmen. India completed their first innings in 124.1 overs, securing a substantial lead of 229 runs.
In England’s second innings, veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin claimed a five-wicket haul, complemented by Kuldeep Yadav’s single wicket, and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah dismissing two English batsmen. Also, with this exceptional all-round display, India secured a resounding victory by an innings and 64 runs. Sealing the five-match series with a commanding 4-1 lead.

IND vs ENG 2024: Indian Debutants Outstanding Performances During the Series
Devdutt Padikkal made an impressive debut in the ongoing Test series against England by scoring a stylish half-century (65 runs) in Dharamsala. Padikkal, receiving his maiden cap from Ravichandran Ashwin on Thursday, replaced the injured Rajat Patidar in the XI. He reached the milestone in just 83 deliveries, smashing a six off Shoaib Bashir.
The bowling lineup witnessed the rise of new talent as well. Akash Deep, a 27-year-old fast bowler, seized his opportunity in the fourth Test by taking three important wickets in the first innings while Jasprit Bumrah was absent.
Sarfaraz Khan, a skilled 26-year-old, finally debuted in the third Test match. Although he was out for 62 runs in his first innings, Khan demonstrated his aggressive batting style and achieved a rapid fifty in just 48 balls, matching the record for the fastest by an Indian debutant. He played three matches in total and scored a total of 200 runs.
