The report also highlighted long-term growth in the sector. India’s sports economy has nearly doubled since 2021. Back then, the value stood at around ₹9,500 crore.

Cricket continued to dominate the Indian sports market. It contributed about 89% of the total sports economy. Cricket alone generated ₹16,704 crore in 2025. Media advertising played a major role in this growth. It brought in ₹9,571 crore in revenue. This shows the strong demand for cricket broadcasting rights. The Indian Premier League remained a key driver of revenue. IPL team sponsorships crossed ₹1,000 crore for the first time. This was a big achievement for franchise-based cricket.

The success of India in the Women’s World Cup led to increased brand interest. The victory prompted multiple companies to boost their financial commitments.
