PAKISTAN

Pakistan has got a backdoor entry into the semi-finals with the unexpected loss of South Africa in the hands of the Netherlands. Now, the time has come for the men in green to grab this golden opportunity and repeat the history of the 1992 world cup. Pakistan’s biggest concern is its opening performance.

Babar and Azam and Rizwan have been completely off-color in the series. Neither they have scored good runs, nor they have provided a brisk start to the innings. We expect Harris to open the innings and Babar Azam to come down the order, to give some extra cushion to the batting.

Pakistan’s bowlers have performed well in the tournament. Shaheen Shah Afridi showed a glimpse of his return in the form in the match against Bangladesh. Harris Rauf, Shadab, and Wasim, all have chipped in with crucial wickets. Pakistan has all the resources and in-form players who will give them an advantage in the match against New Zealand.

ENGLAND

England somehow managed to get a birth in the semi-finals with their good wins in the last 2 matches. But, they have not been fully dominant throughout the ICC T20 world Cup 2022. Their batting has not clicked. Buttler, Stokes, Alex Hales, and Livingston, all have not played great innings.

England has arguably the best batting lineup, but the performance of the batters as a team has been average. The bowling department looks comparatively better. They have good bowlers such as Mark Wood, Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, and Adil Rashid who have performed well.

England will have a tough task against India, as the match will be played in Adelaide, which suits Indian bowlers more. But, we cannot write off England by any means, and they have the capability to defeat India in the semi-finals.

INDIA

India topped the Super 12 round with the highest wins among all teams. The men in blue secured 8 points with 4 wins and 1 loss against South Africa. KL Rahul’s return in form is a good sign for India. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are firing from all cylinders. India has a good batting lineup with the top 5 batters doing the bulk of the scoring.

Rohit Sharma has played only 1 good inning in this T20 World Cup. But, we all know he is a big-match player. The thing which seemed to be the biggest concern for India before the start of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, India’s bowling has been the biggest asset for India.

Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shami, and Hardik, all have taken wickets in the tournament. The team management has not given the opportunity to Chahal, but it seems he might get the go-ahead in the semi-final match against England.

Overall, among these 4 teams, we strongly believe that India and Pakistan will reach the finals. India will have an upper hand, considering their experience and current form. In our opinion, India can win the t20 World Cup 2022.

NEW ZEALAND

In New Zealand, the underdogs reached the semi-finals having topped Group 1 with 7 points in 5 matches. They won 3 games, had to share points with Afghanistan, and lost to England. If we look at New Zealand, they don’t have superstars but have players who can change the course of the game.

Devon Convey, Finn Allen, Kane Williamson, and Glenn Phillips, can be very lethal with the bat. They have quality bowlers such as Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Santer, etc. We all know Trent’s boult ability to pick up early wickets and put brakes on the opposition.

The spinners Santer and Ish Sodhi can stem the run flow towards the middle. Pakistan has a not-so-good middle order and if they manage to dismiss the openers cheaply, we are in for a great contest.
