Duleep Trophy 2024: All Teams Captain And Full Squad. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced official teams for the 2024 Duleep Trophy, marking the start of the country’s domestic red-ball season. Formatted from September 5 to September 19, 2024 in different venues located across Andhra Pradesh.
This time around, the competition will not follow its usual regional pattern with four teams, including India A, India B, India C and India D. These squads are led by recognizable figures like Shubman Gill, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shreyas Iyer among others.
Some players from the teams are popular worldwide, while others are still inexperienced in international competitions. Famous names used here include but are not limited to KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and Suryakumar Yadav. On the other hand, several top Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, as well as Ravichandran Ashwin are not part of the squad because they need time off.

The Duleep Trophy this year will come under scrutiny since it is a key avenue where players can express their desire for national team selection ahead of other matches against Bangladesh later on this month. As Jay Shah, the BCCI Secretary, has shown, the decision to rest senior players while including other key international cricketers is in line with BCCI’s focus to ensure that centrally contracted players play in domestic cricket.
