Rahul Dravid Likely to Return as Rajasthan Royals Head Coach For IPL 2025 IPL . Former India coach Rahul Dravid is expected to return to the Indian Premier League as the coach of Rajasthan Royals. Dravid recently completed his tenure as the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team, which ended after the 2024 T20 World Cup.
According to ESPNcricinfo Rahul Dravid, has recently signed a deal with the Rajasthan Royals and is already in talks regarding player retention for the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction. Dravid previously captained the two-time IPL champions, taking over as their second captain after the late Shane Warne.
Dravid was 39 when he took over as the captain of the Rajasthan Royals in 2012. With him at the helm, the team played 40 matches, winning 23 of them. In 2014 and 2015, he also served as a mentor for the club, and then he took the position of coach for India’s U-19 and A teams.
Under the coaching of Rahul Dravid, India reached the pinnacle of the 2018 Under-19 World Cup. From then on, he accepted the position of head of cricket operations at India National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bengaluru. In 2021, he filled the position previously held by Ravi Shastri and became the head coach of the Indian men’s team and concluded his tenure with a successful campaign at the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The report also mentioned that Rajasthan Royals are likely to introduce Vikram Rathour, a former India batter, to fill one of Dravid’s assistant coaching roles. Rathour, a former selector of India, was with Dravid’s coaching crew at the NCA before becoming India out’s batting coach in 2019.
