Andy Murray walked away genuinely happy from the Paris Olympics 2024 after losing to Americans Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz in the men’s doubles quarterfinals. The two-time Wimbledon champion has now officially retired from professional tennis, saying he gave as much as he could to his career.
Murray, 37, expressed sadness but contentment that he finished on his terms. He said the last couple of weeks had been exciting, and a lot of fun for the team. The Britisher displayed upbeat energy in all his matches at the Paris Olympics, especially doubles with Dan Evans.
He stood out with his competitive streak and kept fans on their toes till the very end.

Despite his spinal surgery and health setbacks, Murray was highlighted a warrior, a fighting spirit and kept going for his love and passion for tennis. The crowd chants of ‘Murray’ ‘Murray’ was enough for him to give his best.

The former World No.1 shared that it was an emotional last Olympics. Murray said he was happy with how he finished. He expressed gratitude for playing at the Paris Olympics and getting to finish, to wrap up his career on his terms. Murray had been upset after withdrawing from the French Open and not being able to play after a spinal cyst surgery in late June.
He was given a standing ovation and farewell at Roland-Garrors by fans and fellow tennis players, as well as G.O.A.T Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.
Murray, who officially turned pro in 2005, is now happily retired from competitive tennis with three Grand Slam singles titles, two Olympic gold medals in singles, and 46 ATP Tour singles titles.
