WPL 2023 RCB vs UPW: A Dominant Performance From UP Warriorz To Defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore. Today Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were at odds with UP Warriorz at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. They are searching for their first win in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
They suffered three straight losses in this season of WPL at the hands of Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, and Gujarat Giants. Their opponent UP Warriorz won their first WPL game, then lost to Delhi Capitals in their second game.
Smriti Mandhana-led RCB won the toss and opted to bat first. However, Smriti couldn’t give a solid start to her team. Second opener Sophie Devine added 44 runs with one-down batter Ellyse Perry.
UP Warriorz skipper Alyssa Healy brought their premier spinner Sophie Ecclestone on the attack to break the partnership. Ecclestone didn’t disappoint her skipper and picked the wicket of Devine. Devine made 36 runs off 24 balls with the help of five fours and one six.

Ellyse Perry Smashed Her First WPL Fifty
Perry continued to bat sensibly and brought up her first WPL fifty in 35 deliveries. However, due to a mix-up between Perry and Heather Knight, RCB lost an important wicket of Knight. New batter Shreyanka Patil played some attacking strokes but got out while smashing a boundary of Ecclestone. Spinner Deepti Sharma dismissed Perry on 52. Wickets continued to tumble and RCB got all-out to 138 in 19.3 overs.
UPW Skipper Alyssa Healy Played A Spectacular Knock
While chasing the moderate target of 139 runs, UP Warriorz started their innings with new opening pair Healy and Devika Vaidya. Both openers gave a flying start to their team by amassing 55 runs in six overs. Skipper Healy continues to play attacking strokes by smashing boundaries in all parts of the ground. She brought up her first WPL fifty in just 29 balls.
Devika played a good supportive knock to Healy. Healy made the game completely one-sided with her explosive strokeplay. Healy and Devika reached their team to the target in just 13 overs without losing any wickets. Healy and Devika put up an unbeaten partnership of 139 runs. Healy smashed a spectacular knock of 96 runs off 47 balls with the help of 18 fours and one six. However, she missed her century by just four runs. Devika remained unbeaten on 36 off 31 balls.
