The two athletes recently posted updates on their fitness progress to social media, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed Cricbuzz that it would be premature to add the pair to the 15-man roster for the continental tournament.
They can still be considered for the upcoming ICC Men’s ODI World Cup, which begins on October 5 in India. Their match fitness will be put to the test in the three-game bilateral series against Australia before the quadrennial championship.
