Who Will Win Asia Cup 2023? Predictions. The 16th edition of the Asia Cup will begin on August 30 and conclude on September 17 with the final game. For the first time, the 2023 Asia Cup will be held in a hybrid format by two independent nations, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Asia Cup 2023 will include India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal (qualified for the first time). This year’s event will be divided into two groups of three teams each. With the top two teams advancing to the Super Four round. Following that will be the final, which will take place on September 17th.
Unlike the previous year, the competition will be played in a 50-over format, allowing teams to prepare for the upcoming One-Day International World Cup, which will be held in October-November. The Asia Cup dates and site have been announced by the ACC. The tournament will feature 13 games, four matches taking place in Pakistan and the nine will be played in Sri Lanka.
Who Will Win Asia Cup 2023? Predictions
Because of the unpredictable nature of cricket, predicting the winner of the Asia Cup 2023 is difficult. The competition is set to be intense with the participation of Asia’s major cricketing nations, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Each squad has excellent players and the ability to win the championship.
Sri Lanka is the defending Asia Cup winner, having defeated Pakistan in the final last year. In contrast, the Indian team performed poorly and did not advance to the final. As a result, the Indian squad would seek to do better in this year’s event.
However, seeing the conditions we could predict that Pakistan can win the Asia Cup in 2023 based on their present form. First and foremost, the Pakistan team under the captaincy of Babar Azam has done exceptionally well in recent months. They defeated Sri Lanka by 2-0 in a home series and whitewashed Afghanistan by 3-0 in an ODI series at Lanka.
Second, Pakistan has an exceptional track record in Subcontinent pitches. The men in green have a decent number of lethal pacers in form of Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf who can transform the game at any time. Especially if the matches are on Asian wickets.
One encouraging factor is Pakistan batting icon Babar Azam’s tremendous form. Although Pakistan had already been defeated by Sri Lanka in last year’s Asia Cup final Pak players can get the trophy for team 3rd time.
