Detailed fixtures released by the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) on July 19. The tournament is scheduled to commence on August 30 to September 17. A total of 13 matches will be played by 6 teams in this series. Four matches will be played in Pakistan while the remaining nine will be played in Sri Lanka. Team Sri Lanka is the defending champion of the Asia Cup.
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal will compete for the most coveted Asian cricket championship. This is the first time Nepal is taking part in Asia Cup. Asia Cup 2023 will consist of two groups of three teams, with the top two teams will reach to the Super Four stage. India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group. The first match of the Asia Cup 2023 will be played between Pakistan vs Nepal at Multan on August 30.

Asia Cup 2023 Format
Before 2016 the format of the Asia Cup was a classic 50-over competition (ODIs). However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) stated in 2016 that Asia Cup games will now be contested in a combination of One Day International and Twenty20 International formats, by the format of upcoming international events.
This year’s Asia Cup will be a 50-over tournament since it’s happening before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which will start in October 2023.
