Breaking News: Virat Kohli To Skip First Two Tests Against England Citing Personal Reasons. Team India’s in-form batsman Virat Kohli has pulled out of the first two Tests against England due to personal reasons, the BCCI said on January 22. The 1st test of the 5-match series between India vs England is set to start from 25 January at Hyderabad.
“Virat Kohli has requested the BCCI to be withdrawn from the first two Tests of the upcoming Test series against England, citing personal reasons,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a statement.
The BCCI also said that Kohli had discussed with captain Rohit Sharma and team management about his personal decision. The BCCI urged the media and fans to refrain from speculating about the reason for his break. Virat Kohli reached Hyderabad on Sunday but did not attend India’s optional training session on Monday.

Virat Kohli played India’s last Test series against South Africa. He missed the first T20I at home against Afghanistan for personal reasons before returning for the last two matches of the series.
