Harmanpreet Kaur Suspended By ICC, Set To Miss Asian Games 2023 Matches. Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur is set to miss the crucial matches of the Asian Games 2023. Kaur was suspended for the next two international matches for two separate breaches of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Code of Conduct during the recently concluded final ODI between Bangladesh and India. The recently concluded 3 ODI series ended in a tie.
ICC levied 50 percent of her match fee for the offensive behavior during and after the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh and received three demerit points on her disciplinary record. Harmanpreet was found guilty of breaching Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
Harmanpreet’s incident, the accumulation of four demerit points converted to two suspension points, leading to her suspension from either one Test or two ODIs, or two T20Is, whichever comes first for the team.
Indian women’s cricket teams’ next campaign will be at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou in China between September 23 and October 8. BCCI has announced both men’s and women’s teams for the Asian Games which will be played in the T20 format. Kaur was named captain of the women’s side whereas Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the men’s team
