Kiwis scored 78 runs in the last five overs. India’s bowlers struggled for control on a batting-friendly surface. The visitors hit 18 boundaries and 11 sixes in their innings. Despite the total, India remained confident during the chase.
India lost an early wicket inside the first two overs. Ishan Kishan then changed the momentum with fearless strokeplay. He smashed 76 runs off just 32 balls. Kishan hit nine fours and five sixes during his innings. India raced past 100 runs inside nine overs.

Suryakumar Yadav anchored the chase with supreme control. He remained unbeaten on 82 from 41 balls. Suryakumar struck seven fours and six towering sixes. He rotated strike well and punished loose deliveries. India reached 209 for three in just 15.2 overs. The chase was completed with 29 balls remaining. It was one of India’s most successful 200-plus run chases.

Hardik Pandya achieved a major career milestone during the match. He became India’s second most-capped T20I player. Only Rohit Sharma remains ahead of him now. With this win, India took a 2–0 lead in the five-match series. New Zealand now face pressure to stay alive in the contest. The third T20I promises another high-scoring encounter.
