IND vs ZIM 2nd T20I: Team India Crushes Zimbabwe By 100 Runs. In the 2nd T20I game held at Harare Sports Club on July 7, Zimbabwe had to chase India’s lofty score of 235 runs. But the Zim team batting struggled and could only collect a total of 134 runs in 18.4 overs. This resulted in India’s Victory by a clear 100 runs leading to Zimbabwe’s biggest loss in T20Is in terms of runs.
India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bat, leading to a tough day on the field for the Zimbabwe bowlers. Rinku Singh contributed with a quickfire 48 not out, while Ruturaj Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 77. In just his second T20I game, Abhishek Sharma made history by scoring a century in 46 balls, becoming the India batter to reach a T20I ton in the fewest innings. This impressive performance helped India post a formidable 234 for 2.
Zimbabwe struggled quite a bit in the second innings, but several young cricketers and Brian Bennett (26) played well. The quick bowlers for India stayed in control of the game all the way through the innings, with Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan taking away three wickets each. Ravi Bishnoi was impressive with his two wickets, he along with Thangarasu Natarajan and Washington Sundar also shared one each, which showed India’s strong performance with the ship movement in their bowling. This grouped action got the Indian team a dominant performance in bowling and managed to win by 100 runs, a rather big margin.
