IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Can Release 5 Players Before Auction. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to make strategic changes to their squad ahead of the IPL 2024 season. Known for its exceptional ability to build formidable teams through auctions, this Lucknow-based franchise has earned a reputation for its strong squad compositions. They have successfully secured a place in the Top 4 in both seasons they have participated in.
However, despite their consistent performance, the Super Giants have struggled in the Eliminator stage. In the previous season, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by Rajat Patidar’s century, overcame the Lucknow-based franchise in the Eliminator. Similarly, this year, Akash Madhwal’s remarkable five-wicket haul for MI resulted in the elimination of Lucknow from the tournament.
Although the Super Giants boast some of the world’s finest players, it is likely that they will consider releasing certain individuals in order to enhance the team’s overall performance before the IPL 2024 Auction.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Can Release 5 Players Before Auction
1. Daniel Sams
In the IPL Auction 2023, the Lucknow franchise made a notable acquisition by securing the services of Daniel Sams for Rs 75.00 Lac. Sams came with a reputation as a wicket-taking bowler, but his journey took an unexpected twist as he spent the entire season on the bench for LSG.
Despite the initial investment and expectations surrounding his abilities, Sams was not allowed to showcase his talent on the field, leaving fans and experts alike puzzled by the franchise’s decision.
2.Quinton de Kock
LSG made a surprising decision to keep Quinton de Kock on the bench for the entire first half of the season, despite his late arrival due to national duty. In his absence, Kyle Mayers stepped up and delivered impressive performances, even earning the nod over de Kock in the crucial Eliminator match.
Given de Kock’s status as a world-class player, it may be in the best interest of both the player and the franchise to consider releasing him back into the auction pool.
3. Deepak Hooda
Deepak Hooda endured an extremely challenging IPL 2023, putting up one of the poorest performances by any batter in the tournament’s history. Despite being given numerous opportunities, his batting average fell below 10, indicating a significant struggle with his form.
In the crucial match against Mumbai Indians (MI), Hooda was involved in three run-outs, further highlighting his lack of contribution when it mattered the most. Given these circumstances, it is highly probable that the team will decide to release Hooda from their squad before IPL 2024 auction.

4. Avesh Khan
The fans were left astonished when LSG made a surprising purchase of Avesh Khan for INR 10 crore in 2022. Although Avesh is known for his ability to take wickets, he has struggled with conceding too many runs on occasions.
Considering the presence of other skilled Indian pacers within the team, LSG might consider parting ways with Avesh in the upcoming season.
5. Jaydev Unadkat
Jaydev Unadkat, the left-arm pacer, had a disappointing stint with LSG, featuring in only three matches. Regrettably, he failed to secure any wickets and struggled to contain runs, with an economy rate of 11.50.
Given his underwhelming performance, it would not come as a surprise if LSG decides to release him back into the auction pool.
