FIFA World Cup 2022: Teams, Schedule, Time Table In IST, Results, Player Of The Match, Prize Money, And What You Need To Know. Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022 is creating history. This is the first time the multi-nation football tournament is being hosted in the Middle East and the second time in Asia after 2002 which was organized jointly by Japan and South Korea. The region’s intense summer temperature and humidity led to moving the event to November and December instead of July.
The 22nd FIFA World Cup is being held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18 and this is the first time in the Arab world. A total of 32 national teams from five confederations compete across eight venues to claim the title. The teams are segregated into eight groups from A to H with four teams in each group. The sequence of matches is Group Stage, Round of 16, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and Final.

FIFA World Cup 2022 Prize Money
The winning team will be taking home USD 42 million while the runners-up will be eligible for USD 30 million. The team finishing third will be awarded USD 27 million and the fourth team will be getting USD 25 million. Simultaneously, the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth spots will be awarded USD 17 million each. The following ninth to sixteenth-ranked teams will be taking home USD 13 million each.
The remaining participating teams will be getting USD 9 million each. Apart from these, all the teams will be awarded a sum of USD 1.5 million each as preparation costs for reaching the group stages. The total outflow of prize money will be USD 440 million.
FIFA 2022: Players To Watch Out For
Argentinian forward Lionel Messi is one of the greatest players of all time. He is worth watching in the Qatar World Cup because the event could be his last and he would try to make it most memorable. He has lately grabbed the Copa America 2021 award.
Portugal goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo is the second most wanted player in FIFA and his teammates are looking ahead to winning the 2022 World Cup title with his skills. Brazilian player Neymar holds a good name among the fans and the ongoing FIFA could be his last appearance in a multi-nation tournament.

Why Qatar World Cup 2022 is the Most Expensive
Qatar has invested heavily in building the World Cup infrastructure. A Bloomberg report reveals the investment could be about $300 billion, which is considered the most expensive in football history. The Minister of finance for the country said in 2017 that Qatar’s weekly spending on capital projects was $500 million.
