It has never qualified for a major international tournament until now. Georgia team set its fans and supporters roaring with excitement as Giorgi Sanaze, a Georgian reporter, said “It’s a dream for us to be at the EUROs, everybody is excited.”

In its debut match against Turkey, Georgia faced defeat 3-1; Georges Mikautadze scored a goal for Georgia. Willy Sagnol, Georgia’s coach, was all praises for his side. He said the Georgia team is proud of its performance. Sagnol said the team gave a nice image of the Georgian football. He added there were a lot of opportunities to score, but that’s football.
