The favorites Manchester United recorded a shocking defeat to Tottenham Hotspur 0-3 on Sunday. Pressure was on Man United given manager Erik ten Hag’s prompt that only 100 percent will do. However, the Spurs dominated the game and took advantage of Man United’s vulnerabilities.
Man United witnessed an early goal from Brennan Johnson when Bruno Fernandes was sent off on a red card. The Spurs had two more goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke in the second half.
Ange Postecoglou, Spurs manager, lauded the team for an outstanding performance. He commended Johnson for the first goal. This was made possible by the center-back Micky van de Ven who drove through Manchester United’s back line and delivered the perfect cross for winger Johnson to bring it home.
Ange said it was a great win. “I thought the lads were outstanding today from the first minute they were at it,” he said. “They are aggressive without the ball, positive with the ball, won the duels, aggressive in everything.”
The Spurs manager attributed Manchester United’s red card to Tottenham’s dominance. “We put them under pressure. They couldn’t get out of their half,” Ange highlighted.

Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag in the Hot Seat
The match against Tottenham Hotspur was Manchester United’s second consecutive 3-0 home league defeat, after falling to Liverpool earlier in the month. After playing six games Man United, with seven points, is in the 12th place.
Ten Hag clarified that the club wasn’t contemplating anything regarding the change in managership. He said the club decided in the summer to stay together as an ownership, a leadership group. “We also decided what we have to improve and how we want to construct a squad.”
Ten Hag said it would take time. He added they have to make some improvement in the overarching organization, and injuries to take care of.
