Erik ten Hag implemented significant last-minute changes for the Manchester United team that was playing against Porto in the Europa League match. Man United and Porto ended the game with a 3-3 draw as both sides kept the pressure up.
This comes after the Red Devils’ humiliating loss 3-0 to Tottenham last week. The team and the management have been under immense pressure to perform with Ten Hag nearly being axed. Manchester United’s game against Porto was brilliant. Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund scored the first two goals.
Man United suffered a setback with Bruno Fernandes’ yellow card. He was sent off the field in the 81st minute for two bookable offenses at Estadio do Dragao. The Portuguese footballer was shown a yellow card for a high boot that caught defender Nehuen Perez.
Porto kept up the pace with Pepe scoring in the 27th minute, and Samu Omorodion scoring two goals, in the 34th minute and 50th minute respectively. Samu, 20, had Porto leading with 3 to 2, but then came the draw from Harry Maguire’s header. Watch the crucial header here:

Erik ten Hag Unhappy with Manchester United Defense
The Man United manager acknowledged that the boys started the game very well, dominated, and scored two goals, but then lost control of the game. “The start was good, the middle part was not good, and finished very good,” Ten Hag said. “It’s a tough place to go, so coming back from 3-2 we get the equalizer.”
He commended the Red Devils for their really strong character. Ten Hag is not happy with the defense, saying more work needs to be done. He assured fans that the team will improve. “Between the players, together, there’s a strong spirit.”
