Manchester United finally got its first win of the season in the Carabao Cup match against Leicester City 5-2. The victory comes just two days after manager Erik ten Hag was sacked for the team’s win-less streak.
The Red Devils got back into the game under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. He acknowledged the team’s 5-2 victory over Leicester City, saying football can be a cruel game sometimes. Van Nistelrooy shared that there was a lot of mixed feelings and he was sad that ten Hag was let go.
Carlos Casemiro got the first goal in for Manchester United 15 minutes into the match, and the second goal came from Alejandro Garnacho in 24 minutes. Casemiro put in his second, the Red Devil’s third goal, when he sent Bruno Fernandes’ deflected free-kick into the back of the net. And there were two goals by Fernandes himself. Bilal El Khannouss and Conor Coady scored for Leicester City
Manchester United’s edge, dominance and goals sent fans into frenzy. Leicester City commended the Red Devils’ turnaround with a top-loaded line-up.
