After crushing Georgia 4-1, Spain is set to face Germany in the UEFA EURO 2024 quarterfinals this Friday. Spain and Germany are listed among the powerful teams vying for the EURO title. While the Spaniards have Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal, the Germans have Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz.
Luis de la Fuente, Spain’s coach, lauded the team for playing a great match. He said they managed to wrestle control and the players did brilliant. De la Fuente highlighted that the team was calm at half-time and the players knew what had to be done.
The Spain coach is all praises for Rodri, 28, who won the player of the match. De la Fuenta said Rodri is a computer who makes everyone else play. He pointed out that the defensive midfielder managed all the emotions and moments perfectly. However, De la Fuente believes the team could have won the match by a much bigger margin or at least 8 or 9-1. He acknowledged that it’s always difficult at this stage of the tournament and the team suffers if chances are not taken.

Spain Ready to Take On Germany
Spain is in the quarterfinals and will play against Germany on July 5. De la Fuente believes Spain can rise as the winner as it has the best players in the world. He said it doesn’t mean that they are sure to win, but the team will fight for it. The Spanish coach added that all teams have flaws and Spain has its own set of tools and weaknesses.
De la Fuente said Germany is a great team with great players. He highlighted that the UEFA EURO 2024 hosts will face a very similar team that is very organized, difficult to defeat and very hungry for the title. De la Fuente believes it will be a very close match and the details will determine the game.
But he is confident that Spain will come on top.
