Antony Santos has failed to put his best foot forward with Manchester United as the team has been struggling to make any breakthroughs in its matches. The Brazilian footballer was signed from Ajax on a £82 million contract, making him the second most expensive player for Man Utd in the summer of 2022.

However, the Red Devils want to let go of Antony. He hasn’t made any impression in the club. Manchester United. In August, Antony attributed his poor performance to his personal life and annoyance with Erik ten Hag’s decision to put him at left-back. The winger shared that he wanted to be in the attack to help the team win, and felt annoyed when he was moved into defence.

But he is hopeful of making a comeback. Antony said he has emerged with a stronger mentality and is more focused. He believes this season will be different as he has grown and matured.

However, Manchester United wants to let him go and is keen to do so in the upcoming January transfer window. Sources say Man Utd will put Antony, 24, on loan or a permanent transfer. But it may be a challenge given the Brazilian’s poor form and lack of regular minutes in recent games.

Word is that Ajax may be interested in bringing back Antony. But it may not be easy as Premier League clubs Newcastle and Crystal Palace might throw in their dice for the winger. They want to strengthen their attack and Antony may be the right player.
