With European football season at its peak, Chelsea has been trying to keep up with rival teams despite a slew of injured players. Among those injured is Romeo Lavia. The Belgian played only once last term owing to a hamstring injury. He was set to play with Chelsea against Bournemouth but was absent from the matchday team.
There have been rumors that Chelsea was looking at letting go of Lavia but that has been brushed off as misinformation. Soccer transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano said nothing is coming as such from the Blues. He highlighted that Lavia’s Chelsea future is not uncertain but secure.
While acknowledging that such speculations are common, Romano said Lavia being let go by Chelsea has no truth. He pointed out that such a rumor about the midfielder, who is in one of the top English clubs – Chelsea, is just not true. The football expert acknowledged that Lavia has been unlucky with injuries.
However, Chelsea is fully supporting its player. Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s manager, is hopeful that Lavia could join for the next game. He didn’t play against West Ham but has updated his followers with social media posts showing him training.

Romeo Lavia – Injuries Ruin
Word is that Chelsea wants Lavia to play only when he has fully recovered and is completely fit to play. Last month in an interview, the 20-year-old shared that injuries ruined his season. He said it has been tough, but he is positive that things will turn around for good.
Lavia highlighted that every time he wants to catch up and show the team that he is their man, his body lets him down. Last season, he sustained an ankle injury in training. The young midfielder said he has always wanted to play for the season and will give his all for it.
