The eighth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is going to be played from October 16 to 13 November 2022 in Australia. The defending champion Aussies will host the tournament this year. The 12 teams that have qualified for the Super 12 stage in the 2021 edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 have automatically qualified for the 2022 edition of the tournament. The teams are Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, India, Namibia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and West Indies.

The remaining four teams are Ireland, Netherlands, Zimbabwe & UAE.
ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Prize Money
The winning team (England) in the tournament will receive $1.6 million. The runners-up team (Pakistan) will end up taking half the amount. The two teams who will be knocked out in the semi-finals stage will receive $40,000 each from the total prize money of $5.6 million. The rest of the 8 teams in Super12 will get $70,000 each.

Prize Money Comparison with 2021 ICC T20 World Cup
The Five-time ICC ODI World Cup Champions created history by winning the 2021 edition of the ICC T20 World Cup in UAE for the first time in their history. Aaron Finch and co defeated Kane Williamson’s New Zealand in the finals by 8 wickets.
The total prize money for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE was set at INR 42 crore. This money is divided amongst all the 16 participating nations. The Aussies took home INR 13.1 crores, INR 11.9 crores for winning the tournament, and INR 1.2 crores for winning four out of five games in the Super 12 league stage.
The Black Caps took home INR 7.15 crores out of which INR 5.95 crores are for reaching the finals of the tournament and INR 1.2 crores are for winning four out of five league stage matches.

Apart from the finalists, Pakistan and England were given INR 3 crores each for reaching the semi-finals of the marquee event. Additionally, Babar Azam’s Pakistan got INR 1.5 crore for winning all five games on the league stage. England took home a total of INR 4.2 crores, INR 1.2 crores for winning four out of five games in the league stage.
On the other hand, the remaining teams which participated in the Super 12 stage received INR 52 lakhs each. Additionally, for each win, a team has got INR 30 lakhs each. The Men in Blue took home a total of INR 1.42 crores. INR 52 lakhs for qualifying in the Super 12 stage and INR 90 lakhs for winning three out of five games.

The likes of Oman, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, and the Netherlands played in the ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers but failed to reach the Super 12 stage. Each of the four teams received INR 30 lakhs. Additionally, they received INR 30 lakhs for each win in the qualifiers stage.
ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Tickets
Tickets for the 2022 edition of the ICC T20 World Cup are available for sale on ICC’s official website (t20worldcup.com) from Monday (Feb 7, 2022). Cricket fans who are eager to watch the game live in the stadium can buy their respective tickets. The ticket price for the first round & super12 is $5 for children and $20 for adults. The maximum ticket prices go as high as $395. Prices differ for different seating positions in the stadium.

Comparison with the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup
The ticket prices for the ICC T20 World Cup in UAE ranged from AED 75 to AED 15,000. A General Saver seat in the Stadium costs about AED 75-150 while a Premium Seat in the Stadium costs AED 225 to AED 800. The costliest seat in the stadium was priced from AED 2,900 to AED 15,000.
