Punjab Kings SWOT Analysis Ahead Of IPL 2021 Part 2
STRENGTH OF PUNJAB KINGS
Strong batting line-up
If we look at the batting line-up of Punjab Kings, they have a few names that will impress everyone. KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Dawid Malan, Nicholas Pooran are very promising players who can change the course of the game within few deliveries. KL Rahul has been in sublime form for the last two years and so has Mayank Agarwal.
Chris Gayle coming at the number third position has made the batting line-up strong. If anyone among these 3 plays the full 20 overs, Punjab can score a lot of runs.

WEAKNESS
Inconsistent performance and weak spin attack
Punjab Kings has always been an inconsistent team over the years. They have failed to close games from winning position. Even in the 2020 edition, this was seen when Punjab lost a few games where they felt they could have easily won.
This has been the biggest weakness for Punjab Kings. Also, they lack quality spinners on their side. M Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi are the only two quality spinners up their sleeve, but both of them lack the firepower. This has also been a prime reason for Punjab not winning games consistently.

OPPORTUNITIES
Turn the tables
Punjab Kings have never won any IPL trophy despite having a good batting order and a decent pace attack. Their biggest opportunity will be to turn the tables this IPL season. They have only won 3 matches in 8 games so far, but if they manage to repeat the performance they did last IPL season, they can surprise other teams and race through to the playoff.
All they need is a consistent performance in the last few matches of this IPL 2021 UAE leg. They would have surely reflected on the performance this season during this break and will try their level best to bounce back stronger in the remaining matches.

THREATS
Injury concerns
Punjab Kings should focus on making their key players remain fit for the entire season. KL Rahul got injured after a few matches of this IPL season. Mohammed Shami is also prone to injury. Both these players are fit and have recovered well, but the franchise needs to focus on fitness. Injury concerns towards the business end of the IPL may make things worse for Punjab Kings.
They also need to make sure that the players who are in form don’t get complacent as this will also dent their chances of reaching the playoff stage in IPL 2021.
