6 Players Who Can Win The Purple Cap This Season
Harshal Patel
Let us start off the list with IPL 2021’s Purple cap winner, Harshal Patel. The Indian fast Bowler was bought back by his former side Royal Challenges Bangalore in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for a whopping price of 10 Crores.
In VIVO IPL 2021, Patel broke many records after picking up a record of 32 wickets for RCB. It was his breakthrough season and never before had he picked up even half the number of wickets he got last season.

However, a thing to worry about is that IPL will be played in India this season and Harshal Patel struggles to perform in the Indian terrain. It will be foolish to rule him off though as we all know he is in red hot form.
Jasprit Bumrah
Although it is true that Jasprit Bumrah has never been able to win the prestigious Purple Cap award of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2022 might be his best chance to win it.
Just think about it, almost all the other star bowlers have been shuffled to some other team and they will take some time to adjust to the new surroundings. Jasprit Bumrah on the other hand, who was retained by Mumbai Indians, starts the upcoming season from where he left in IPL 2021, and thus he will have an edge in the Purple cap race.

Kagiso Rabada
Kagiso Rabada was bought by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for a price tag of 9.25 Crores. He will be the main fast bowler of his new IPL franchise.
Kagiso Rabada has been one of the most consistent bowlers in the Indian Premier League over the span of 4-5 years. He has been at the very top internationally when it comes to the best bowlers in the world and it is extremely hard to play his deliveries, especially in the death overs.
Kagiso Rabada won the Purple Cap award in IPL 2020 after picking up 30 wickets and there is no reason to think that he won’t be able to repeat it this season.

Yuzvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal was bought for a bargain price of 6.5 Crores in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction by Rajasthan Royals. This will be the third franchise that Chahal will be playing for in the IPL after Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Although Yuzi Chahal came close many times, he has never been able to win the Purple cap award in his IPL career. Playing for a new franchise this year, Chahal will have an urge to prove his worth to the world and thus he might be more motivated than ever to pick up as many wickets as possible.
Thus, Yuzvendra Chahal is a very strong candidate for winning the Purple Cap Award this season.
Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan is the second spinner on this list and although he is highly regarded for being the best spin bowler in the world, he has never won the IPL purple cap in his career.
The Afghan player was drafted by Gujarat Titans ahead of IPL 2022 for a whopping price of 15 Crores and he will have some increased responsibilities in the new side.
As he is one of the core members of Gujarat Titans, he will try his best to improve his performance, and thus it won’t be a surprise if he ends up winning the Purple Cap award.

Avesh Khan has undoubtedly been one of the best Indian bowlers in the last two years. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2021 and is a big threat to any opposition.
Avesh Khan was bought for a record price of 10 Crores by Lucknow Super Giants. He picked up 24 wickets in IPL 2021 and is one of the favorites to win the award in 2022.
