IPL 2022 mega auction is going to be held on 12 & 13 Feb 2022. This will be a grand event with IPL 2022 set to have two new teams. This year, there have been a few players who have risen to the occasion for their teams. They will be a key for IPL 2022.
According to the players’ performance in this IPL 14th edition, we have created a dream11 team that can be a hot pick in IPL 2022 mega auction. Some players have been retained, some are waiting for the auction. This playing XI is chosen based on the phenomenal performances during phase 1 and current phase 2 of VIVO IPL 2021.

IPL 2022: Dream11 Team Based On IPL 2021 Performance
OPENING PAIR
KL Rahul (WK) and Ruturaj Gaikwad
The opening pair for this IPL 2022 dream11 will be KL Rahul and Ruturaj Gaikwad. These two batsmen have been simply outstanding. KL Rahul is the 3rd highest run-scorer in IPL 2021 season, with 626 runs in 13 innings. This includes 6 half-centuries. Although Punjab Kings failed to qualify to the playoff under his captaincy, his batting has continued to impress everyone.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been phenomenal this season for CSK, scoring 635 runs in 16 innings and winning the orange cap. He has been icing on the cake for CSK, scoring the second-highest runs for the franchise. Both these players will form a formidable opening pair in this dream team.
MIDDLE-ORDER
Faf du Plessis, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant (Captain)
The middle-order of this IPL 2022 dream XI team comprises Faf du Plessis, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rishabh Pant. The current CSK opener was the 2nd leading scorer for the franchise and second-highest scorer overall, with 633 runs in 16 innings. He has proven the proverb that old is gold.
Du Plessis is accompanied by DC stars Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant. Like the previous year, Dhawan has continued his golden run, scoring 544 runs in 14 innings. He has provided an excellent start for DC in almost all matches.
Rishabh Pant is the next batsman in the middle-order. Pant, although has managed to score 419 runs in 16 innings, his excellent captaincy, making Delhi Capitals reach the top position in the IPL 2021 points table, has been his achievement. In just his debut season as a captain for DC, Rishabh Pant has impressed one and all. Incidentally, he also is the captain of this IPL 2022 dream X1 team.
ALL-ROUNDER
Glenn Maxwell, Venkatesh Iyer
Glenn Maxwell had a horrible season last year. He made an excellent comeback this season. Playing for RCB, the Australian all-rounder has scored 513 runs in 15 innings, including 6 half-centuries. Maxwell has also picked three wickets this IPL 2021 season. Glenn was the leading run-scorer for Royal Challengers in IPL 2021.
One player who has become an overnight sensation is KKR’s, Venkatesh Iyer. Hardly anyone knew about him, but in IPL 2021 phase 2, Venkatesh Iyer got the opportunity and has grabbed it from both hands. He has scored 370 runs in 10 innings. Venkatesh Iyer has also scalped 3 wickets. He will surely be one of the hot buys in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
BOWLERS
Rashid Khan, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh
Rashid Khan is the lone specialist spinner in this IPL 2022 dream team. He was the sixth-highest wicket-taker in this IPL season, with 18 wickets in 14 innings. Harshal Patel has been simply brilliant. The RCB pace bowler is the purple cap winner with 32 wickets in 15 innings. He has risen to the occasion in this IPL season and has impressed the cricket pundits with his line-length clubbed with a change in pace.

Avesh Khan was the second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2021. He has picked 24 wickets in 16 innings. The Delhi Capitals young pace-bowler is one of the stars of this season. The last bowler in this IPL 2022 dream team is Punjab Kings bowler Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm pacer has picked 18 wickets in just 12 matches.
