Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), one of the two new IPL teams owned by Sanjeev Goenka, bought a total of 18 players in the mega auction, out of which 6 are foreign players. Earlier, Lucknow had retained three players, KL Rahul, Ravi Bishnoi, and Marcus Stoinis, according to the IPL rules.
In IPL, a team can have a minimum of 18 players and a maximum of 25 players in its fleet. Lucknow has a fleet of only 21 players for IPL 2022 which is the least among the ten teams. And this is also the only team that has zero rupees left in the purse after the auction, while Punjab Kings has 3.45 crore left after the auction which is the highest.

Lucknow spent 36.70 crores on foreign players out of 90 crores, which is the2nd highest among all the teams of IPL 2022.
