There have been 14 successful editions of the IPL, which started in 2008 with a total of eight teams. Out of these eight teams, except Chennai and Rajasthan, all the other teams have participated in all seasons of IPL, hence the number of matches of these two teams is less.
Both the teams were suspended from the IPL in 2016 and 17.

Mumbai under the captainship of Rohit Sharma may have won the most titles now but Chennai is ahead of them in total win percentage. CSK has the best winning percentage in the IPL so far. 4-time champions have won 117 out of 195 matches and a winning percentage of 60.56. Dhoni team are followed by MI who has a winning percentage of 58.52.
