IND vs AUS 2nd Test Day 1 Highlights: Starc Dominates Indian Batters Taking Six Wickets: The first day of the second Test match at Adelaide Oval between India and Australia lives up to the mark with great events. Six wickets by Mitchell Starc in his magical spell with the pink ball and the struggle of the Indian batsmen to keep the score going. By the end of Day 1, Australia was at 86/1 against the Indian score of 180, resulting in a deficit of 94 runs.

IND vs AUS 2nd Test: India’s Batting Collapse

India already started well after deciding to bat with a partnership of 50 runs by KL Rahul and Shubman Gill. But with the swing and accuracy of Mitchell Starc, he took the wickets of Rahul (37) and Virat Kohli (7) before the middle order fell apart. Nitish Reddy fought a lone battle for India, scoring a fiery 42 before Australia got down the visitors for 180. Starc ended with 6/48, the best of his career, during the show under lights.

Australia’s Response:

Australia began carefully but lost an opening batsman in Usman Khawaja (13) as the casualty of Jasprit Bumrah. Nathan McSweeney (38*) and Marnus Labuschagne (20*) continued the fight of the innings, a blend of patience and aggressiveness, with a partnership of 58 runs without a breakthrough to end Day 1 with Australia in control. Bumrah’s figures did not reflect the economy as it was heaving up in 13 in 11 overs, which he worked fine for India.

This is the best an individual can do at exploiting the pink ball’s movement under lights, so setting up the match. Starc now creates worries for the Indian middle order as it continues to buckle under pressure. They do not possess the money to handle high-quality seam attacks. Although Australia today looks well ahead in the Test, under the pink ball and overcast conditions, India should still find breathing space and scope to counter on Day 2.

India would try to take early wickets on Day 2 to restrict Australia’s lead and add onto it that’s built on Australia’s first-innings cushion. Weather and Pink-ball would set the tone for the next day as some drizzle halted the game at Adelaide for some time.
