Rafael Nadal has confirmed that he will not compete at the 2024 US Open – which runs from August 26 to September 8. The G.O.A.T was last seen at the Paris Olympics, where he had paired with champion Carlos Alcaraz for doubles.
The US Open 2024 is the fourth and final grand slam for the year. It will have players like Iga Swiatek, Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka, and Alexander Zverev, among others, with Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff to defend their titles.
Nadal, 38, said he has had amazing memories at the US Open but will not be playing. The 22x Grand Slam champion believes he won’t be able to give his 100 percent this time in the tournament. He thanked his American fans for their love and support.

Rafael Nadal Headed For Retirement
Nadal will be seen playing at the Laver Cup in Berlin, which would probably be the last match of his career. He is a four-time US Open champion, having won the titles in 2010, 2013, 2017 and 2019. As of late, the tennis legend has missed several tennis tournaments owing to his physical health – hip and abdominal issues. And his age is also catching up on him.
Nadal has also been contemplating retirement and is expected to make an official announcement before the year comes to an end. He played his last Olympics in Paris, and gave a great performance but failed to secure any medals for his country Spain. Nadal’s last major win was the 2022 French Open.
