WPL 2023 DC vs UPW: Delhi Capitals Steamroll UP Warriorz To Bag The Second Win The WPL 2023. On the fourth day of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), Delhi Capitals (DC) were at loggerheads with the UP Warriorz (UPW). This was the second game for both teams in WPL 2023. Both teams recorded victories in their debut IPL games.
UP Warriorz took a surprising decision to leave out Player of the Match of the last game Grace Harris out of the eleven to include pacer Shabnim Ismail. Delhi Capitals didn’t make any changes in their playing eleven from the last game.
UP Warriorz won the toss and opted to bowl first. Delhi openers Meg Manning and Shafali Verma gave a flying start to their side. They accumulated 62 runs in the power play. However, Tahila McGrath bagged the wicket of Shafali to give the first opening to her side. Shafali could make 17 runs off 14 balls.

Meg Lanning Continued Her Spectacular Form
Lanning continued her assault on opponent bowlers and brought up her fifty in just 32 balls. Lanning continued to play his attacking strokes. At last Indian spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad picked the wicket of the DC skipper. Lanning made 70 runs off just 42 balls with the help of 10 fours and three sixes.
Jemimah Rodrigues and Jess Jonassen played fiery knocks in death overs to help their side to reach a monumental total of 211 runs after losing four wickets in 20 overs. Jonassen smashed an unbeaten knock of 44 runs off just 20 balls, which was studded with three fours and three sixes. Jemimah remained unbeaten on 34 off 22 balls.
Three Wickets Early In The Innings Put Warriorz In Trouble
While chasing a mammoth total of 212 runs, Warriorz skipper Alyssa Healy kicked off the innings aggressively. However, while playing an attacking shot, Healy gave a catch to the point fielder Radha Yadav. She made 24 runs off 17 deliveries. Warriorz lost two more wickets in the powerplay.

Tahlia McGrath’s Valiant Knock Went In Vain
Middle-order batsman McGrath added 40 runs with Deepti Sharma for the fourth wicket. McGrath completed her first WPL half-century in just 36 deliveries after getting out on a duck in the previous game. She took a more attacking route after her fifty. The right-handed batsman bashed opposition bowlers to all parts of the ground.
She remained unbeaten on 90 off just 50 deliveries. She smashed 11 fours and four gigantic sixes in her sensational knock. However, she couldn’t help her side to reach much closer to the target. Delhi Capitals beat the Warriorz by 42 runs to record their second win in the WPL 2023.
