Between the years 2015 and 2019, Hardik Pandya was undoubtedly the most dangerous and desirable All-rounder in the Indian Premier League. He was lethal both with the bat and the ball and his fielding skills too were inexplicable.
His unfortunate back injury in 2020 was the turning point in his career as there was a huge downfall in his performance ever since. He is however training rigorously to get back in form and the IPL 2022 will probably be his best opportunity to prove his mettle to the world.

Hardik Pandya – A look back at his Career
Hardik Pandya was exactly the type of player team India has been searching for in the last few years. He is a seam-bowling all-rounder and is too fast in the field. With all these attributes he was included into team India’s squad for the 2016 T20 World Cup.
Pandya cemented his place in the Indian team in the limited-overs format. But the latter suffered a back injury in 2018 which ruled him out of the Australia tour. However, things got worse when Pandya along with KL Rahul was suspended by the BCCI for passing out misogynistic comments about women in Koffee with Karan show which went on air. Both received massive criticism after that.
After some time, the ban was lifted and Pandya returned to the Indian team. Though Team India remained one step short of the finals in the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup in England, Pandya had a decent season. He provided a much-needed balance to the Indian team.
In 2020, Hardik Pandya underwent back surgery in London. He did not bowl in the IPL for quite long. His performance with the bat was poor as he only managed to score 127 runs in 12 matches.
Hardik started bowling in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup in UAE. But after the conclusion of the tournament, Hardik has asked the selectors to not pick him for a while as he will be trying to regain full fitness.
