IND vs AUS ODI Series: India Beat Australia By 5 Wickets In 1st ODI. KL Rahul-led team India beat Australia by 3 wickets in the 1st ODI at Mohali. Indian captain won the toss and invited Aussies to bat first. They put 276 on board in 50 overs with the help of David Warner’s valuable 52 runs in 53 balls. Mohammed Shami took the first fifer against Australia in this match.
Asian Games 2023 Indian cricket team captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and regular opener Shubman Gill gave a solid start to the men in blue. The opening pair accumulated 142 runs, Gaikwad scored 71 in 77 balls while Gill contributed 74 in just 63 deliveries. Skipper Rahul made his 14th fifty and 2nd as captain in this match. KL hits the winning short and India won by 5 wickets
Australia is on an India tour for 3 ODIs before World Cup 2023. BCCI rested the regular captain Rohit Sharma, former skipper Virat Kohli, and vice-captain Hardik Pandya for the first two matches of this series.
It was KL Rahul’s 8th match as ODI captain and the 147th ODI between these two cricketing giants. Out of 147 matches Australia won 82 whereas India came victorious in 53 games. Under Rahul’s captaincy, India won the 5th ODI. Australia won the last ODI series in India by 2-1 in March 2023.
The second ODI will be played in Indore on September 24 and the last match will take place in Rajkot on September 27.
