IND vs NEP Women’s Asia Cup 2024: India Beat Nepal By 82 Runs To Reach Semi-Finals. Nepal have lost their eighth wicket in the chase of 179 against India in the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 Group A match on Tuesday. Earlier, Shafali Verma’s fiery knock propelled India to 178/3 in their 20 overs. Opting to bat first, India got off to a blazing start with Verma and Dayalan Hemalatha stitching together a dominant partnership.
Verma was truly amazing, hitting 81 runs in just 48 balls, whereas Hemalatha scored a solid 47 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues scored an unbeaten 28 runs to make India’s total even better. In the case of Nepal, Sita Rana Magar landed herself as the most impressive bowler thanks to the two wickets she got while Kabita Joshi contributed one. They were unable to maintain the run rate even though they put up a good fight. The bowlers of India were relentless and continuously put pressure, which made it hard for the batsmen to focus.
Earlier that day, India’s Smriti Mandhana, standing as a substitute captain, won the toss and, without much debate, chose to bat first. It was an excellent choice, with the players’ marvellous performance in batting out a very high score. The game revealed India’s well-rounded squad that includes both good batsmen and bowlers, while Nepal will strive to take as many lessons from this match as possible.
