His ability to change his technique as per the conditions and wicket is simply amazing. The franchise owners might need someone to take over as captain after MS Dhoni’s retirement and Williamson is a perfect candidate due to his calm temperament. He has scored 2101 runs in 77 IPL games with a strike rate of 126.03.
2 Sam Curran
T20 World Cup 2022 man of the series Sam Curran has shown a lot of promise with the bat as well as with the ball. The left-hander has done a decent job for Punjab Kings as well as for the England national side in the shorter format. The 25-year-old can surprise with his pace and can swing the ball both ways at the death. The left-arm pacer can be a tricky operator in the powerplay as he can cause problems with his clever seam movements.
He was bought by Punjab Kings for a record sum of INR 18.50 crore but his performance fails to justify his hefty price. If PBKS releases him than Chennai Super Kings will surely target him in the next season. Curran can be a handy batsman lower down the order as he can strike the ball powerfully and play some unorthodox shots. He took 10 wickets in 10 IPL games during the 2023 season with best figures of 3/31. He scored 276 runs with a strike rate of 135.96 during the 2023 season.
3 Manish Pandey
The Karnataka batsman isn’t a destructive hitter but he can time the ball sweetly with his effortless strokeplay. The 34-year-old can chip in with crucial runs while batting at no 4 or 5. The right-hander was bought for a sum of INR 2.40 crore by Delhi Capitals during the 2023 season.
Pandey has a vast amount of experience playing in different conditions and situations in the IPL and Chennai Super Kings might give him an attractive offer. The right-hander has played in 170 IPL games scoring 3808 runs with a strike rate of 120.97 and a highest score of an unbeaten 114.

4 Jason Holder
Although the West Indian all-rounder doesn’t possess the pace to topple the best batting lineups he can be penetrative with his clever seam movements. The 32-year-old can abstract late movement while he can outsmart the batter with the slower ones during the run of play. CSK can target Holder in IPL 2024 auction as he can be destructive with his batting at no 7 or 8.
He was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for a sum of INR 8.75 crore & Rajasthan Royals for a sum of INR 5.75 crore in 2022 & 2023 respectively. He took 14 wickets for Lucknow Super Giants last season while he took just 4 wickets in 8 IPL games for Rajasthan Royals this season. The all-rounder hasn’t impressed with his power hitting so far but his hitting abilities can’t be undermined.
