IPL 2024 Auction: Four Players Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Can Target In The Auction. Lucknow Super Giants is another team who doesn’t have big stars in their dugout but the team has showcased positive results since their debut in 2022 as the team made it to the semi-finals in both editions. However, the franchise owners would like their team to better their performance in IPL 2024 as they would try to assemble a team that can win the title.
Justin Langer’s inclusion in the coaching staff will be a big boost for the team as the former Australian test opener is vastly experienced. In this article, we discuss who the LSG owners as well as the team management might target during the IPL 2024 auction. The players mentioned in the list are more than capable of changing the outcome of a game on their own.
IPL 2024 Auction: Four Players Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Can Target In The Auction
1. Steve Smith- Australia
Former Australian test opener and Australian head coach Justin Langer’s appointment to the coaching staff will be crucial in shaping the team for the future. Langer would be eager to add Australian batter Steve Smith to the squad. Smith has vast experience playing in the IPL and his presence will be a guiding force for Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul as far as taking tough decisions is concerned.
Although KL Rahul has done a decent job as an LSG skipper, Smith’s advice would come in handy for Rahul due to his experience. The Australian right-hander’s inclusion would be a big boost to the top order. He has scored 2485 runs in 103 IPL games so far with a strike rate of 128.09.

2. Ashton Agar- Australia
The left-arm Australian spinner has done a reasonable job for Perth Scorchers in Big Bash League and can be a penetrative option in the shorter format. The 29-year-old is an underdog but he can be an effective option with his unorthodox spin and deception.
Agar has so far taken 48 wickets in 47 T20I with best figures of 6/30. He has taken 117 wickets in 141 T20 games overall. Agar can be a handy batter at no 7 or 8. LSG owners might try to entice him for the next auctions. A spinner like Agar is a utility in all kinds of wickets.
3. Kedar Jadhav- India
The right-hander is a batsman who the LSG owners can take a bet on as an alternative option when it comes to batting at no 6 or 7. Although India International is 38 years old and he is on the wrong side of the 30s, Jadhav can be effective with his ability to hit the big shots when needed.
Jadhav has experience playing in different situations and wickets in the IPL which can come in handy. He has scored 1208 runs in 95 IPL games with a strike rate of 123.14. He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore during the 2023 auctions for a sum of INR 1 crore.
4. Andrew Tye- Australia
The Western Australia and Perth Scorchers pacer was bought for a sum of INR 1 crore by Lucknow Super Giants during the 2022 auctions but went unsold during the 2023 auctions. The 36-year-old is a wicket-taking option who can get breakthroughs during critical moments.
Tye looked impressive in the Big Bash League and has reasonable experience playing in the IPL as well. He has taken 40 wickets in 27 IPL games with best figures of 5/17. LSG owners might shortlist him for IPL 2024.
