Ravindra Jadeja demonstrated his extraordinary batting talents in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, orchestrating a spectacular comeback to bring Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their fifth title, equalling the record set by Mumbai Indians (MI).
The 10 IPL franchises will concentrate on planning and strategizing for the following tournament now that season 16 of the lucrative league is over. As the defending champions, CSK will be under the limelight for their performance, and the public will expect them to repeat their prior success in IPL 2024.
Some CSK players rose to the occasion and proved their value in gold, while others stayed pale and untested throughout the season. The upcoming IPL season will bring in some new faces, thus a handful of players must be dismissed from the roster ahead of the IPL 2024 Auction.
Chennai Super Kings May Release 5 Players Before Auction
Sisanda Magala
In place of Kiwi all-rounder Kyle Jamieson for the IPL 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have added South African spinner Sisanda Magala to their squad. Jamieson’s injury prompted him to withdraw from the IPL 2023.
Magala was anticipated to harness his extensive franchise cricket expertise, but he couldn’t get a long rope in the team. The Protea pacer appeared in two CSK games, taking one wicket at an economy rate of 8.50.

Ben Stokes
Ben Stokes is an English all-rounder who astonished the world by winning the World Cup for his nation in 2019. Stokes was signed by CSK officials owing to his all-round performance and extraordinary captaincy qualities. However, he only appeared in 5 games this season.
Despite his stellar career, he failed to create a mark in the IPL this year. Stokes was too expensive for Chennai Super Kings, and based on his performance, the franchise may consider dismissing him and recruiting two or three strong all-rounders instead.
Kyle Jamieson
Kyle Jamieson is a Kiwi pacer who cost CSK a hefty one crore. This Kiwian is an excellent pacer and a devastating death bowler, but his recurrent ailments had hampered his career in recent years.
He has not played this season, though, owing to a recurring back ailment that requires surgery. Chennai team management may release him due to his infirmities since they will not pay such a hefty price for a non-performing player
